While it is hard to picture such a large and stubborn dog maneuvering an obstacle course, agility is just as good for Caucasian Shepherds as it is for any dog. While most likely your CSD will never make it to nationals, agility is really fun for both you and your dog. Agility is physically great for dogs because of the coordination and strength it develops. It also helps the owner be active and engage with the dog, celebrating as the dog successfully navigates a course. With all dogs, but especially CSDs, it is very important to work with an experienced agility trainer to help protect your dog from injuries or strains. Puppies especially need to avoid hard impacts.
